Recruiting prospects into your network marketing business is easier said than
done for most network marketers. Most people who start their MLM business are told by their
uplines to just share the plan. They are told to make a list of everyone they know and begin by
calling everyone on their list and either inviting them out to a business overview or to a conference
call with their sponsor. It doesn’t take long before the new recruit is asking themselves what do I do
when I run out of people to talk to on my list? This is the point where most sponsors will tell them to
make sure to ask their list for referrals or to get creative and talk to anybody and everybody within 3
ft. of them.
After doing this for a while and facing massive rejection most quiet, however, a few will persevere.
The patient network marketer reluctantly turns to buying into lead programs and cold calling
massive amounts of people all in the hopes of “sharing the plan” with opportunity seekers. The major
problem they have now is they just turned into another telemarketer and have destroyed the
duplication factor in their business. You see, they might learn to get good at cold calling but it is
almost impossible to duplicate this skill in their organization. You have to give them credit for
making it this far in their business though. By now they have persevered, faced massive rejection,
and have grown mentally tough.
They have worked hard for months but they still don’t see any success in their downlines or in their
bank accounts. They look around at their core leaders who are ‘supposedly’ having all this success
and they ask themselves what is it that they are doing differently than me? The missing ingredient
for recruiting endless prospects online or offline are two major components. The first thing that all
core leaders have is PROFESSIONALISM, next is a LEAD GENERATION SYSTEM.
All successful leaders display professionalism in their business. They know their company and
products inside and out. They have a servant’s heart and know how to talk to people. They also know
how to MOTIVATE people to take action. Because of this people are attracted to them and join their
team. Keep this in mind. People join professionals in this business. You have to spend the majority of
your time early on in your business working on yourself. You can’t shortcut this, it is a must!
Next, all successful leaders have a lead generation system. They don’t waste time talking to
uninterested people. Their time is valuable and they know this. They see themselves as a valuable
professional whereby people have to earn their time.
They know how to use technologies like the Internet, social networking, video marketing, article
marketing, website marketing, etc. to attract the endless amount of interested prospects to them.
They also know how to enhance their business by creating multiple streams of income. So in closing,
the key is to develop your own professionalism and create value in the lives of your prospects and
